Vijaya Bharati, prominent writer, literary critic passed away in the month of September 2024. All social activists and organisations mourned her death and formed into a memorial committee, namely, “Vijaya Bharathi Smaraka Sanchika Team” with the objective of publishing her works and holding a memorial meeting. Ms. Jhansi Geddam, Convener of DSS is member of the Smaraka Sanchika Team. This team in cooperation with Bojja Tharakam Trust organised a meet to inaugurate the books of Vijaya Bharathi. The team published two books of Vijaya Bharati, namely, “Vijaya Gadha” and “Nissabda Viplava Tarangini”. The inaugural meeting was held at Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Nampally, Hyderabad on 23rd November 2024 at 6.00 p.m. Ms. Jhansi Geddam, was on the dais and she was given the task of inviting the dignitaries on to the dais. Sri. K. Lingaiah, Chairman of Ambedkar Memorial Trust presided over the meeting. The two books were inaugurated by Sri. Kaki Madhava Rao and Ms. Rama Melkote. Sri. Satish Chander, Senior Journalist, Justice G. Chandraiah, Ms. Gutta Jyostna, social activist, Sri. G. Jnaneswar, Social Activist, Dr. Mahita Bojja, Prof. V. Sudha Rani, Dr. Koyi Koteswara Rao were the dignitaries that spoke on the occasion, while, Ms. K. Sajaya presented vote of thanks.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Lecture
39th Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Lecture was conducted on 6th December 2024 at Press Club, Basheer Bagh. The memorial lecture was delivered by Justice G. Chandraiah, on the topic, “Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar- Life, Vision, Mission and Achievements”. Justice, P.L. Narayana, Dr. B.M. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Yadaiah, G. Jnaneswar were the other dignitaries present on the dais. Ms. Jhansi Geddam welcomed the dignitaries on to the dais and Ms. Rajitha, Social Activist presented vote of thanks.
